We installed SP3 for Microsoft Project Professional 2007 and the issue was fixed. Resolution: We’ve (as in we at EPM Partners) have spent many hours on this issue with Microsoft as it seriously impacted one of Microsoft’s largest Asia-Pac 2010 customers, in the end I tried searching their website, but I couldn't find any information on it. this content

It seems that the 2010 client has better error handling / correcting or perhaps that the 2007 client is introducing some errors! This sounds exactly like what is happening to us.

Finally it is definitely not related to legacy projects, I have seen it occur on a test dozen line project based on a blank template. Martin Megan Krewson on March 3, 2011 at 1:46 am Thank you for publishing this issue and fix! Yes so far so good actually, our most heavily affected customer who ended up with the pre-release hotfix mentioned above has not had the issue reoccur since installing. Also it’s worth noting that once the error appears on one client, all clients will be unable to save the project. Do you know if the fix has been released by microsoft yet?
