done this will work below is the part of httpd. "Port: The port to which the standalone server listens. First, I changed (as recomended) 'Listen *:80' line in httpd.conf file, I installed apache on the "server" pc without a problem and can connect to the "server" with all my pc's. I haven't installed anything new so I don't know what program is hogging port 80.

Sounds like it would be functioning correctly if you see that in your browser?Once Apache is running and serving web pages, why would run cmd and type httpd.exe? Would have taken a while to figure out if not for your post.
