This apparently caused more problems because now, AirPort Utility keeps giving me "an unexpected error has occurred try again" medsages. This is getting tiring. This little piece of....sorry, little so-and-so (might be young'uns around) has been a pain, to put it nicely. Theoretically, it should just work. a MacBook Pro Retina can not connect to a Free Wifi capture network when an iPad 1 or MacBook Pro 2009 can. Is it actually something wrong with my computer?

I have exactly the same set up as you (except using a Huawei HG556a HW.C router, from vodafone). Apple gear is always a breeze to set up*… Sat down at my iMac, fired up AirPort Utility, and plugged in the Express. So now the Express is upstairs, AirPort Utility is indicating that it has "Excellent" signal strength, and I'm a happy camper. Im at about my wits end with this.
